Joshua is a Torres Strait Islander man who has been a member of CATSINaM since 2004 when he studied at the Australia Catholic University. His career as a nurse started at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in cardiac care. He also worked as a nurse with RAHC in remote Indigenous communities, including Mutijulu, Areyonga and Tennant Creek. He has worked as a volunteer for Volunteers in Community Engagement (VOICE) in the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program as the Indigenous Australian youth leadership field staff/supervisor. He also volunteered in remote Vanuatu. His desire to contribute to our people’s health and assist in building our nursing workforce led him to become a lecturer, tutor and mentor to other aspiring nurses. More recently, Joshua was the Course Coordinator for the Aboriginal Health Worker qualifications, Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Heath Organisation
