Professor Karen Adams

Professor Adams is the Director of the Gukwonderuk Indigenous Unit in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science at Monash University. She has over 25 years’ experience working in Indigenous health as a health practitioner, researcher and educator.

Professor Adams has been a tertiary educator and researcher for over 25 years in health sciences and has worked in both mainstream and Aboriginal health services as a practitioner and manager.

In her role she oversees, within the Faculty, teaching of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and a program to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates in the health professions.
